Email marketing is a process that will help you make money if you follow a smart business plan. In order to build your email list in a short period of time, and get subscribers who will eventually turn into buyers, you must give away a free report or ebook in exchange for internet users’ email addresses. You must also ask for permission to continue sending them email messages when delivering the free ebook.
You can place your offer in your resource box, under each article you submit to top article directories like ezinearticles.com. After verifying that you are an expert, your readers will believe that the additional information you provide in the free ebook will help them even more. This tactic is very effective and has excellent results when your articles are well written and really helpful. However, it won’t work if your articles are not substantial, or if they lack clarity and originality. They must be the incentive that will transform your readers into subscribers.
You must fulfill all the necessary requirements to create a perfect marketing plan, otherwise all your efforts will be in vain. Begin by writing quality articles that will really convince your readers that they must download your free ebook. Then, prepare a series of email messages, with the intention of turning your subscribers into customers.
The second part of the selling process through email marketing is quite complex. Getting subscribers is not as difficult as making money with your email list.
Your subscribers are constantly receiving tons of emails from various sources. They cannot help but ignore most of them due to lack of time, or lack of interest. In order to grab their attention, your messages’ titles have to incite their curiosity.
Study the data provided by the email company on which to send your messages. Statistics that indicate their “open rate” will inform you if your messages are read, or if they are merely ignored. Statistics indicating their “click through rate” will inform you if your readers are clicking on the links they contain.
Only a small percentage of your subscribers will open your messages and actually read them. Fewer still will click on your links. This is why you must regularly send them very well structured messages. You want to make yourself unforgettable. However, if you spam them you will lose them.
To create a good balance of exposure without spamming, set a specific day of the week for sending your messages. Test your results. If your list is receptive, send your messages after a shorter interval. If the excess of emails is making your subscribers unsubscribe, leave longer intervals between your messages.
Your communication with your subscribers must gradually help you approach them and inspire the confidence they need to finally purchase your products. Be patient and helpful. However, don’t send evasive messages without any call to action. Remember that your intention is to sell your products.
Offer only one or two products in each email message. Too many choices will confuse your readers and result in fewer sales. Offer special discounts to entice your readers to buy. Give your readers some added information that you haven’t included in your articles.
Provide more information than offers, but don’t be merely a teacher. Your email messages are small sales letters. They must be the last link in the chain, and make your subscribers finally purchase your products.
